Cyberfashion anyone? Look at this dude with his big fake studio smile, wearing these pretty uncool and somewhat useless cyberstyle virtual reality glasses. According to inflight magazine shopping guide Skymall, this gadget, called iWear VR920, is ‘award-winning technology’ that was designed with the PC gamer in mind. It gives 3D support and 3 degree of freedom head-tracker, allowing ‘the definitive online interactive gaming experience’. I tried to find out online which award this iWear won, but I simply couldn’t. The other questionable issue with this ‘intelligent display solution’: The iWear works surprisingly with PC’s only. Well, the big question is then: Which serious gamer is willing to spend $399 for a virtual ‘big screen experience’ that can only be used to play games on a PC or laptop? The number of PC video gamers has been falling dramatically for the last couple of years. Sorry, folks at Icuiti, the people behind the iWear, this thing just has to fail miserably. Not just for the silly looks, but for the overall concept and the embarassing marketing. But who knows, maybe it is gonna be chique at some point in the future at Halloween parties to wear this kind of then-retro video eyewear …
