This Thursday in Berlin, Sony Ericsson will launch six new phones including a “Walkman” branded hand set with 9GB of Flash memory built-in, touch display, (and here’s the “fuck you iphone” feature) a built-in keyboard.
Of course, no one cares about “Walkman” phones until the Japanese-Swedish joint venture announces it’s much anticipated PSP “gaming platform” phone.
you are using very strong language here, but you are right: a built-in keyboard could be a potential iphone killer. i am sure we’ll see a number of other companies coming up with mini keyboards in the next couple of months
I apologize for the ironic dramatics. I do think that there’s an undue amount of hype being manufactured to sell phones. Those who insist on needing the iphone will prompt others to keep up with their carrier’s offering which closely match in bells and whistles before anyone calms down and realize that they perhaps did not need an all in one phone/psudo-pda/mp3 player/etc. to start with…
Now if someone can build-in a stereo x-y coincidental pair condenser mics and capacity to record in 24bit 192khz sampling rate, while being able to talk on the phone hands free and watch mp4s all at the same time…
